Boat Docks on Beaver Lake
Boating on Beaver Lake is a privilege that many take for granted. The pristine waters offer locals a place to cool off during the hot summer months. Due to the exceptional beauty of this lake, the request for addition boat docks is constant. However, new permits for boat docks will not be issued until further notice.
Beaver Lake is located on the White River in Northwest Arkansas (Benton, Washington, Carroll and Madison counties). The lake is 38,138 acres of land and water with 490 miles of shoreline. Beaver Lake is the primary water supply source for Northwest Arkansas. Beaver Lake provides a wide variety of opportunities for the public to enjoy the waters. There are numerous county roads that end at Government property near such as Prairie Creek Marina/RV Park. There are approximately 70 public boat launching ramps, 12 public use areas with 7 commercial concessionaires with 2,016 wet boat slips. Additionally, there are 7 limited motel/resort leases with 98 wet boat slips. There are just over 5,000 private use boat slips as well.
The Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock, has determined that the amount of private and public use needs to be limited in order to keep the water in the best condition. Therefore, permits for Boat Docks on Beaver Lake have been halted.
The good news is, homes with existing boat docks that are sold are grandfathered in. So if you purchase a home with a dock, enjoy it! For a list of homes with existing docks, please reach out to me. Rogers, Garfield and Eureka Springs are some of the cute towns surrounding the lake.
