Siloam Springs, Arkansas is in the far northwest corner of the state on the border with Oklahoma and about 30 miles from Fayetteville. Siloam Springs is known for the community feel as well as the natural beauty of the town. Sager Creek flows through the downtown. In fact the town established due to the 8 springs that flow into Sager Creek, which were considered medicinal, and summer visitors would come here to drink from these springs. Siloam Springs was named by Smithsonian.com as one of the 20 Best Small Towns in America (May 2012). Some of the city’s most popular festivities take place here, including the annual spring Dogwood Festival and Light Up Siloam Springs program during the holidays. A year-round Farmer’s Market is another popular offering.
Numerous shops and boutiques line the streets of this quaint town. Restaurants offer food choices ranging from chains to coffee shops to fine dining. If golf is your game, Thunderbird Golf Club at Dawn Hill (a semi-private course) and the Siloam Springs Country Club (a public course).
John Brown University is a private Christian college located in this area and is recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of the region’s best values. JBU has an enrollment of approximately 2500 students.
